1 How War Plan Reward Bias Works
Reward nodes direct your point spending toward particular materials, while activity choices determine where you intend to play. The supplied plan treats reward investments as three-point steps.
Pair an Obducite reward bias with activities you'll actually run, such as Helltide or the Pit. A reward preference has little practical value on a route you leave unused.
This approach suits players working toward a defined crafting goal. It won't solve a shortage of a different required ingredient, and its value depends on your actual activity results.
2 Recommended Starting Reward Settings
Start with the material blocking your next upgrades, then direct later points toward the other reward when your needs change.
Starting Choices by Crafting Goal
| Tactical Setting | Recommended Option |
|---|---|
| Greater Temper resources | Prioritize Obducite |
| Seasonal power | Prioritize Talismans when slots lag |
| Activity pairing | Use routes you regularly run |
| Reward rerolls | Keep a Marks reserve |
Talisman bias becomes more useful when your tempering needs are covered but seasonal slots remain weak. Stronger seasonal gear may help you clear activities faster, which can also improve your farming pace.
Concentrating points creates a tradeoff: the other material may accumulate more slowly. When both are short, alternate three-point blocks across weeks so you can see what each choice contributes.
3 What Each Resource Contributes
Your reward decision depends on more than the node itself. The activity, crafting ingredients, seasonal needs, and reroll budget each affect when a point spend makes sense.
| Component | Recommended Focus | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Obducite | Temper and masterwork goals | Fund gear upgrades |
| Talismans | Empty or weak seasonal slots | Develop seasonal power |
| Activity lanes | Frequently played routes | Put reward points to use |
| Marks of Wisdom | Unsuitable reward rolls | Preserve useful nodes |
Obducite and Scrolls
Obducite supports the tempering and masterwork plans described in the PTR material. Set aside the amount intended for your next craft before judging the remainder as spare.
Scrolls are a separate requirement for Greater Temper. More Obducite alone won't open your planned craft if the Scroll supply is missing.
Talisman Needs
Talismans support the seasonal power layer, making them a sensible next target once your immediate gear-crafting costs are covered.
Sort your inventory before upgrade attempts and record unsuccessful crafts. That record helps you distinguish an affix problem fr om a genuine shortage of Talisman rewards.
Activity Routes
Attach your reward preference to the activities you intend to repeat. Helltide or Pit routes are useful examples when those are already part of your schedule.
A favorable node on an unused activity produces no useful session result. If your Obducite rate stays flat, review the route before spending another block on the same bias.
Marks of Wisdom
Use Marks to reroll a reward that doesn't serve your near-term crafting plan. Keep a relevant result even when a different reward looks appealing.
Decide on a reserve for launch week before practicing on a November Eternal tree. Each unnecessary reroll reduces the budget available for later corrections.
4 How to Execute Your Reward Plan
Make changes at the start of a session and keep the activity setup steady. That gives each reward choice a clearer window in which to show its effect.
Use this order for your next review.
● Count Obducite, Scrolls, and Talismans against the crafts you expect to attempt in the next two days.
● Sel ect the reward bias for the material blocking those crafts, using a three-point block wh ere available.
● Run your chosen activity and record the materials gained alongside the time spent.
● After three measured sessions, compare your inventory with the crafting targets and assign the next block to the larger shortfall.
Continue with the same setup while it meets your goals. Pause further investment when the recorded rate fails to improve, and inspect your activity choice before making another change.
5 Protect Marks and Crafting Materials
The main risks are spending Marks on acceptable nodes and mistaking an inventory or ingredient problem for a reward problem. Both can consume resources without bringing your next craft closer.
Put a few safeguards around each session.
● Record the old reward, new reward, and remaining Marks after a reroll so you can see what the change cost.
● Capture the node's point cost and current ranks before spending Marks, giving yourself a reference for the decision.
● Keep Obducite intended for Greater Temper easy to identify during inventory cleanup so it isn't lost through an accidental action.
● Check Scroll supplies during the same review as Obducite, since either shortage can delay the planned craft.
A conservative approach is to keep a usable reward roll and reserve Marks for launch week. It gives players with limited Marks more room for later corrections, at the cost of accepting a node that may not be ideal.
6 Reward Bias Strengths and Weaknesses
| Strengths | Weaknesses |
|---|---|
| Targets a known crafting shortage | Other rewards may grow more slowly |
| Fits frequently played activities | Unused lanes provide little practical value |
| Uses measured session results | Results require consistent records |
| Preserves Marks through selective rerolls | A relevant roll may remain imperfect |
Inventory reviews and a Marks reserve reduce avoidable waste, but they can't guarantee a particular reward result. A reward bias also can't replace missing Scrolls or make an unused route productive.
7 Test Results and Adjust Your Next Block
When a respec permits it, run the same activity once without Obducite bias and once with it. Record Obducite gained per hour and your starting and ending Scroll counts; those observations distinguish reward income fr om overall craft readiness.
If Obducite income doesn't improve, inspect whether you're running the activity paired with the reward and adjust the route before adding points. If the material count is adequate but a craft remains unavailable, inspect the required Scroll stock and correct that shortage before changing the reward configuration. Change one variable at a time.
Once your inventory and node ranks are recorded, choose the next three-point block for the material that falls furthest short of its target. You can review as an optional part of planning your next upgrade, while continuing to earn rewards through your chosen activities.
